Leadership of Keystone Baptist Church in Acworth, Georgia selected Morgan to build phase one of a three phase, master plan for their new campus. Along with architects from CGLS, Morgan assisted Keystone with conceptual budgeting so the church could proceed with fundraising. Once funds were in place and design completed, Morgan began construction of the 8,500 SF worship and education building sitting on 23 acres of heavily wooded property at Keystone’s new location. The structure is steel and cold formed metal framing while the skin of the building is a mix of EIFS and brick masonry.

This project consisted of over ten phases with six distinct areas of work within the 500,000 SF, 30 acre campus. Demolition, reconstruction, and new construction phases were all completed in and around a fully functioning facility. Roughly 30,000 SF of interior classrooms, contemporary meeting facilities, and toilet rooms were reconfigured or renovated. A new three story steel frame was constructed to tie into three different existing buildings. The largest space in the new addition was state of the art children’s performance theater.

The main challenge for the Morgan team on this 4,450 SF building was the extremely aggressive construction schedule required to meet the start of the school year. Custom built to house the new Montessori School of Serenbe, Morgan was able to creatively consolidate the construction schedule so that the total elapsed days from ground breaking to project turnover did not exceed 150 total days. The developer and headmaster of the school were extremely pleased when they were able to open the doors to children and families of the Chattahoochee Hill Country on time.
